Trestle: Model Box

Here is my model box for the Trestle at Pope Lick Creek.

Set somewhere in America in 1936, it follows two teenagers who escape to the railroad track. There they play chicken with the train, the one thing that only ever makes it out of their town.

With most of the action taking place in the dried up creek underneath the train tracks, the main focus is of a 3 meter high suspended rail road! The play is very dark and intimate and so the audience are sat on rostra around the stage, bringing them up to the actor’s eye level and once sat in their seats are unable to get up and leave.

Multicoloured Brick Model...

My boyfriend got some Lego for Christmas and has spent the past couple of days making anything and everything. Today I decided to join him and a thought occurred to me…why don’t we use Lego bricks to make initial/white card models? They are easy to put together and take apart, you can make almost anything and they come with readymade people!

Think I may be using Lego for my next project.

Othello: Final Model (Almost)

Here is my final design for Othello. The model needs a few tweaks before I take some final images.

I am really pleased with how the model looks, now all I have to do is build the set and paint it!

Othello: White Card

My first production is Othello, due to be performed at the beginning of December in the May Hall (main school hall); with the hope it will be performed at the National Youth Drama Festival in June.

As the play moves from Venice to Cyprus the set had to be able to represent both with no set changes. The brief I was given was, minimal, early Victorian, oppressive and there must be a map and table included!
